Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu is a 2D fantasy MMORPG that's free-to-play, and features cartoon, sprite-based graphics. Unlike most MMORPGs, Luminary doesn't feature set classes, but instead has weapons players can specialize in which determine their playstyle. Weapons include melee weapons (sword, spear, axe), ranged weapons (bow, gun), and a magic weapon (cane).

The most unique aspect of Luminary is its emphasis on social interaction. The game features a player-driven economy, and also voted player officials who are in charge of various aspects of the game world. The most popular player can become the GoonZu, and essentially act as the king or president of the game world, setting taxes and other rules.
